Chongli, China – Round 7 & 8

The UCI World Cup China Tour continues this weekend with rounds 7 & 8 in the mountain region of Chongli.

Team Riders Payton Ridenour, Evan Oliviera, Alexis Pieczanowsky, Sienna Pal, & Meredith van Dre Harr all prepared for the 2nd weekend of racing.

Sienna has been consistent all season and Day 1 was another great ride as she made the main event. With a stacked Women’s Elite final, Sienna started things off out of gate 8. A tight race down the first straight away unfortunately didn’t go as planned for Sienna, but her never quit attitude shine bright as should would battle the entire lap and finish 6th for the day.

After a strong race last weekend Payton was looking for another shot at a podium. But things are very tight at the top of the  Elite Woman’s category.  One small mistake on the first straight away on Day 1 ended her quest for a main event  in the semi final.

Evan currently sits in 6th overall in the overall series Unfortunately Day 1 wasn’t kind to Evan as he was eliminated in the 1/8th finals after a crash in turn 1

Last weekend was one to forget for Alexis as his results were by his words under par. But he turned things around as Alexis had a breakout ride on Day 1, as he made his first UCI Elite Men’s Main event.  What was one of the closest races down the start of the track with 6 riders going for it into turn1Alexis was just the unlucky man out and would battle in the pack for the entire lap, finishing 7th for the day.
