The 2026 UCI BMX World Championships kick off this weekend in Brisbane, Australia and Chase has a large representation on and off the track for the next week and a half. With a massive Expo sport showcasing our all new ACT 2.0 & RSP 6.0 frame, as well as a selection of our new 2027 Chase Edge and Element bikes.
Barry Nobles and Jeremy Bodzen are a the helm, with help from Peter Hart, the Chase Australian Team Manger in the Velodrome.

On track, Izaac Kennedy is super excited to race in his home town, for a chance for his ultimate BMX goal, winning the World Championship on home soil. Izaac won a few years back on this track during the UCI BMX SX World Cup, so he knows the feeling to win in his homes biggest stage so far, can he do it now when the stakes are higher?
Payton Ridenour has been on a tear this season with wins on the USA BMX tour and multiple podiums. She is looking to continue her impressive year with a podium in Elite Women.
Barry Nobles has been down under for a week and a half and unfortunately he’s be under the weather as well, being sick, but should be race ready come later this week as his race in on July 26th. Barry will be at the Chase booth for the fans all week and helping out the Championship riders as they race this week.
Ryan Tougas and Evan Olivera both are looking to make there first Elite mens main event and both have had a season with wins and great results.
Unfortunately things started off on a horrible note, as Izaac Kennedy had a crash on the Friday practice, the day before the Elite event. The crash resulted in a concussion for Izaac and that would unfortunately end his quest for a world title, as this is an automatic withdraw from the UCI Medical group. Glad to report Izaac had no further injuries.
While the other riders were ready to compete, Monther nature had other plans, The riders were able to compete on Saturday for the Motos, LCQ, and 1/8th finals, but come Raceday on Sunday, the winds picked up and did not stop. What did stop sadly, was the race itself as the UCI had to cancel the 1/4, 1/2 and Main events due to unsafe racing conditions. Safety is a huge concern but the lack of a contingency plan by the UCI to extend the race to Monday was a sour point for all riders in attendance. This is a huge negative for BMX and the 2026 World Titles were determined by 1/8th finals times, as per the rules, but there is a time and place to make change, but it wasn’t to be in Australia.
The Challenge and Master event would carry on during the following week and Ethan Hostage was looking to repeat his world title from 2025. When the Main event kicked off, he had the lead for 85% of the track, but he was rundown and passed, giving him 2nd for the day.

Barry Nobles would end the week of racing, going for the UCI World Championship in Masters. After being under the weather all week, Barry came around and felt good, as he would qualify into the finals on the last day of competition. Barry was having trouble with the 1st jump and it would haunt him in the main event as well, as he was in 6th into the first turn. Barry never gives up and he would rally back for a 4th place finish for the day.
